Loaves and Fishes Fort Pierce provides meals and other support for homeless and food-insecure neighbors in Fort Pierce, Florida. We also provide a free commissary with clothing, outdoor living essentials and personal hygiene products. When requested, we provide sponsors to assist persons who are homeless navigate government bureaucracy to apply for benefits for which they qualify.
Currently, we serve a free Sunday Dinner at 11:30 AM in the parking area for 5 Star Automotive at 515 N 4th Street (US 1), Fort Pierce FL 34950; corner of US 1 and Cedar Place. Our meals are prepared in volunteer home kitchens and brought to the site in containers provided, served cafeteria-style. We serve under the building carport. We thank the owners of 5 Star Car Repair for allowing us to use their property each Sunday.
During the meal, REACH Outreach also sponsors a free commissary for these neighbors to provide clothing, outdoor living essentials and personal hygiene products. This commissary is supported by donations from area churches and the St Lucie County community.
Anyone is welcome to join us. We always need volunteers to help serve food and prepare the home made dishes we serve each week. Call 904 219 4799 and leave a message; or email director@LoavesAndFishesFP.org .

HELP WANTED
HELP! Loaves and Fishes Fort Pierce provides support for neighbors who are homeless in Fort Pierce.
One aspect of this outreach is giving bicycles to people who need the transportation for work. We accept bicycle donations from the community, then perform repairs and maintenance as needed. When the bicycle is functional, we keep it in storage until we get a request.
We need help two ways: first, we need bicycle donations; second, we need help with the repairs.
If you have a bicycle that is in reasonable condition, please consider donating. You can call (772)672-4394 to arrange pickup. Please leave a message with your name, address and phone number. One of our volunteers will return your call.
RIGHT NOW we need volunteers to help with repairs and maintenance. Our director has been doing this but has very limited expertise, especially with the multi-speed bikes that we seem to get most often. Responsibilities include:
assessment to determine if the bike is economically feasible to repair;
provide cost estimate for parts;
make repairs to make the bike fully functional. You will be reimbursed for parts you have to purchase.
We currently have a 15-speed Schwinn that we are trying to get out to a homeless man who desperately needs transportation.
